Vomiting and Diarrhea in Pets
Dallas pets sometimes get vomiting and diarrhea that can be treated by their owners without a visit to the local veterinarian clinic. There are times when pets will need to be taken into the Dallas vet clinic in order to cure their symptoms, and these tips are designed to help you know the difference.
Pets that have vomiting and diarrhea are able to be successfully treated by their owners with simple remedies. We suggest trying to cure your pets at home before bringing them into our clinic; if you are unable to cure their illness, then we need to have a look at the pet. Sometimes vomiting and diarrhea are the result of a deadly disease called Parvo.
Pets that experience vomiting and diarrhea can usually be cured by feeding them something that won't further irritate their stomach and will also adsorb the excess acids in their stomach that is constantly breaking up their foods. Cats should be fed pumpkin right out of the can. This food is very gentle on the cat's stomach and will absorb excess acids. You can feed the pumpkin directly to your cat and you may find that you need to mix it into your cat's regular food in order to entice it to eat.
Dogs can be fed white rice because this food will not aggravate their stomach and will also absorb their excess acids. After feeding your pet these foods, their stools should harden and their vomiting should cease. If symptoms do not improve within 12 hours, contact our Dallas veterinarian clinic for expert help.
